Our Practice

Affiliated Podiatrist, P.A. was founded in 1978 by Drs. Jerome A. Slavitt and Joseph S. Werner upon the completion of their postgraduate residency training in podiatric medicine and surgery. With more than 30 years experience, the practice has developed into a respected and trusted participant in the greater Baltimore medical community. The practice continues to grow through referrals from satisfied patients and physicians as well as the health insurance industry.

Doctors Slavitt and Werner are both Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery *. Both Drs. serve on the medical staff of several area community hospitals as well as surgery centers. Dr. Slavitt and Dr. Werner both practice daily in all areas of advanced podiatry techniques including reconstructive foot surgery, laser surgery, cryosurgery, minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, geriatric and pediatric foot care, diabetic foot care, sports and trauma injuries as well as orthotic appliance therapy.

Both physicians serve as expert consultants to the insurance industry as well as medical consultants to the legal profession. Dr. Werner has served as an appointee under two successive Governors as a member of Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. Dr. Werner serves as Chief of Podiatric Surgery for St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Slavitt serves as Chief of Podiatric Surgery for Northwest Hospital Center. In addition, Dr. Slavitt holds several patents for medical devices related to podiatric medicine and surgery. These items are sold all over the world.
